Casa peiso
fertörákos

hungarian neighbouring community to mörbisch, just across the border and only 4 km from casa.peiso. „kroisbach“ in german, it was once a german-speaking village that has changed a lot over the past 70 years while still maintaining its original settlement structure. like in former times, estates border the „fö utca“ (main road) and certain village parts are still deeply entrenched in history. right after the border, another ancient relict lies, the mithras grotto dating back to the roman history of pannonia. people also visit the stone quarry, which hosts operas and concerts each year during sopron`s summer festival in its fascinating stone theatre. another attraction is the bishop palace built by the bishop of  györ in the 17th century on his flight from the turks.

for delicious food, try stopping at ráspi who has specialised in hungarian truffles, violet siroup, goose liver and fish from lake neusiedl. the „haus im see“ lies right next to the boat stage and boasts a truly laid back atmosphere. ideal for a cycling trip. good bus connection from fertörákos to sopron (we have a bus timetable at reception for you).

if you’re neither cycling nor walking, we recommend taking the electric cars by euro taxi which will fetch you right from the border. taxis through to sopron are also organised!
